Cheyenne is a self-taught photographer and has been shooting professionally since 1989. She spent the first half of her career shooting adventure sports stock photographs that have been published worldwide in ad campaigns, magazines and books. Her impressive list of clients includes: Sunset Magazine, Subaru Drive Magazine, Outdoor Research Gear, Tamron USA, U.S. Postal Service, Backroads Tours, Outdoor Photographer Magazine, Outside Magazine, and the list goes on. Cheyenne is also a published author, having written several books, many photo/text pieces and monthly columns for national magazines. Cheyenne was also on the esteemed faculty of Petersen’s PHOTOgraphic Magazine for several years
Cheyenne went digital in 2007 and has become a proven master of technique in the world of Fine Art Photography. She is now taking Digital Fine Art Photography into exciting, powerful and new directions and can help you take your creativity to a whole new level. With her unique vision, she captures the subtle moods, the textures, and maybe the ghosts that live on somehow in the rusted, abandoned artifacts of the Southwest. Using the whispers of light, color and form, she asks the majestic landscapes and relics of the region to tell us their stories once again.
Photographing the Legend, the Lore and the Landscapes of the Great American Southwest, Cheyenne is passionate about what she feels so fortunate to do for a living. As a sponsored HDR Specialist for Photomatix HDR software, Cheyenne conducts Photomatix HDR training classes both online and privately to individuals. Cheyenne is a believer in keeping things simple with her own photography as well as in her teaching style. Although there won’t be personal critiques during the program there will be opportunities during the evening at Hillcrest House that participants can choose to share their images with others, learning from each other as you go. There will also be discussions and short presentations on the HDR technique.
As the former owner of Ancient Light Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona Cheyenne now travels and holds Photo Workshops, HDR Classes and Photo Tours throughout the Southwest. She also shows and sells her Fine Art Photography at Art Shows throughout the Southwestern US. Most recently, Cheyenne was chosen as one of the rising stars on the Southwestern Art scene by Phoenix Home & Garden Magazine.
Cheyenne was raised in Miami, FL and has lived in San Diego, CA and Park City, UT and now makes her home in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Cheyenne, those of us lucky enough to participate in your workshop had a great time and garnered lots of great photos. I can highly recommend a Cheyenne L L. Rouse workshop as she’s a delightful, enthusiastic, motivational and knowledgeable person. And a fabulous photographer!B.G.
I was skeptical that I could ever shoot anything besides my kids and family, I couldn’t figure out how to make photos of inanimate objects interesting to other people, but I’m pleased with how several of my images turned out. You really helped me find my creative side! Thanks again for the tour and the lessons, I got a lot of perspective and I really think you helped me expand my horizons.Joel
Inspiration. As a photographer, I am always seeking it. Visual inspiration from the Natural World is a wonderful thing. But to be inspired by another photographers work is always exciting. When I first saw the images created by Cheyenne L. L. Rouse, I was immediately drawn to her unique interpretation of the world around her. Not only does she capture poignant compositions in subtle details, but she can take an ordinary subject and turn it into magic with her use of high dynamic range ( HDR ) techniques. With this inspiration, I can’t pass up my own HDR interpretation. Thanks Cheyenne.G. Brad Lewis
