A professional photographer since 1980, Tom Blagden concentrates his photography on South Carolina, where he has lived since 1977, Costa Rica, and Maine. Tom has made over thirty five trips to Costa Rica, where he and his wife, Lynn, had a house on the Nicoya Peninsula for twenty years. He has led tours to Costa Rica, photographing extensively over the entire country. His photographs and writing are devoted to creating a unique sense of place as both a celebration of, and a catalyst for land protection and conservation issues. Tom’s photographs have graced the covers of Smithsonian, Audubon, Outdoor Photographer, and Nature Conservancy magazines, as well as six exhibit-format books on South Carolina and Maine, one of the latter winning the National Outdoor Book Award for Artistic Merit. He is also a Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers and the North American Nature Photography Association.
