Photo Tour of Montenegro with Expert Guide and Photographer Dan Briski

Tour Intro

Montenegro has some of the most beautiful and undiscovered landscape in all of Europe, with turquoise and green lakes, rich forest, and stunning mountains. Small it may be, but it is proof that good things come in small packages - especially for visiting photographers! Its historic treasures, including UNESCO world heritage site Kotor, are well worth exploring and photographing, but the true highlight of Montenegro is its breath-taking natural beauty; majestic mountains, rugged coastline, the stunning geography of Kotor Bay, and an abundance of wildlife. It’s difficult to imagine the diversity offered in such a miniscule country, but believe us, you will see and capture it all in Montenegro!

Dan Briski has been guiding photo tours for Strabo Photo Tour Collection for several years now. He receives rave reviews from our clients, making everyone feel at home. He shares his love of each culture along with being very comfortable engaging and teaching photography. Dan is a professional nature photographer and an expert outdoor photographer. He specializes in mountain, landscape photography in the Alps and spends most of his time in the wilderness searching for the right location and waiting for the perfect light. Although the Alps are his favorite photographic subject, he also shoots mountaineering, climbing, outdoor activities, portraits and related commercial projects. And when the weather is unsuitable for work in nature he engages in studio and architecture photography. His work regularly appears in exhibitions at home and abroad and has received several prizes at international salons of photography.

You will seek out its hidden gems, and create something new and different from typical locations you see over and over. Explore the two sides of Montenegro, from the bustling coast with its thriving tourism industry, beautiful beaches and turquoise sea, to the much quieter side inland where it often feels that time has stood still. Nearby Lovcen Lake National Lake and Lake Skadar is even more relaxed; here you’ll see life being lived at a much slower pace. As we travel along some of the most scenic roads you’ll often have the feeling there is no one else around.

Add to all this a warm welcome from friendly Montenegrins and typically local, fresh and organic food, and we feel sure you will return from this trip feeling like you’ve experienced a true taste of the real Montenegro.
The itinerary will guide us, but we also make unscheduled stops for discoveries along the way, with an eye for the group's interests. You can plan to be out for early and late light when weather and schedules permit. Dan will offer guidance and some instruction on the tour, and will also be available to answer questions and provide photographic advice.

Extend your stay in the remote pre-trip extension to Bosnia-Herzegovina. The whole world was aware of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1990’s due to the cruel war. The conflict ended in 1996 but for years tourists were simply afraid to visit. Like many countries that have been damaged by war, the strong people of these regions rebound and opened their doors to tourism. Explore the region on this optional extension, walk the old town of Sarajevo and Mostar, explore with your local guide of the region. Accommodations will be in the old town of Sarajevo where you will explore the Turkish part of the city called Bascarsija. There are traditional handcrafts where you can photograph old masters at work as well as the mosque. Capture classic European scenes at sunrise and the blue hour in old town. Move on to Mostar via Jablanica on the Neretva River and Konjic town.

Trained agents are available to answer your questions, so don’t hesitate to call the toll free number in their brochure. It is to your advantage to apply for insurance at the earliest possible time, so don’t delay in making a decision.
